Columbus Force SC Welcomes Three New Staff Additions!
Columbus Force Soccer Club is ecstatic to announce the addition of three new coaches to our staff! Welcome to Bashiru Gambo, Dani Gunderson, and Sarah Brink!
We are excited to officially welcome Bashiru Gambo to our Columbus Force SC coaching staff for the upcoming 2025–2026 club season! Bashiru will be playing a pivotal role in the development of our players as he joins us to coach within our club teams, the USL Youth platform, and our Supplemental Training Program.
🔹 About Bashiru Gambo
Originally from Ghana, Bashiru Gambo brings a wealth of international experience and professional insight to the Columbus Force coaching staff. As a former professional forward, Gambo’s career spanned top-flight leagues in Germany, Austria, Turkey, and Ghana, including time with renowned clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgarter Kickers, and Jahn Regensburg.
He also represented his country at the highest youth levels and played in prestigious European competitions. His understanding of the game, particularly in attacking roles, will offer immense value to our players.

Gambo’s career is decorated with numerous accolades:
* 🏆 FIFA U-17 World Cup Champion 📍 1995 – Ghana U17 National Team
* 🏆 German U-19 Bundesliga Champion 📍 1996/1997 – Borussia Dortmund U19
* 🏆 2× Wurttemberg Cup Winner 📍 2004/05, 2005/06 – Stuttgarter Kickers

Bashiru’s addition strengthens our mission to develop well-rounded, technically gifted, and tactically intelligent players. With his international experience, focus on player development, and competitive pedigree, he will be instrumental in:
* Mentoring and developing players across the club season
* Coaching top-level talent in our pre-professional environment program, USL Youth
* Supporting our players growth in our Supplemental Training Programs

With a powerful playing resume and over a decade of collegiate coaching experience, Coach Dani brings elite knowledge, passion, and leadership to the club.
⚽ Playing Career Highlights:
* Played at Radford University (D1) and Christopher Newport University (D3)
* Competed in the W-League with the Piranhas (2011)
* Played in the WPSL (2012–2015)
* Current player for the Columbus Eagles (2016–Present)
🏆 Coaching Journey:
* Head Coach at Muskingum University (Current)
* Former Assistant Coach at Denison University, Frostburg State, and Susquehanna University
📜 Licenses & Certifications:
* US Soccer National D License
* NSCAA Level 1 Goalkeeping Certificate
* NSCAA Level 2 Coaching Certificate

A dynamic leader with a proven track record, Coach Brink brings a championship mindset, elite coaching experience, and player-first approach to our club.
🏆 Coaching Highlights:
* Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Denison University
* Led Denison to a 2024 NCAC Regular Season Championship and earned NCAC Coaching Staff of the Year honors
* Guided the team to a dominant conference run in 2024: 5-1-1 record, 5 shutouts, and league-best defensive stats
* Captured the 2023 NCAC Tournament Championship and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament
* Four-year Assistant Coach at Trinity College (CT), helping the team reach the NCAA second round and earn a Top-25 national ranking
* Former Head Coach of the U16 Girls Select Team at Connecticut Rush Soccer Club
* NCAA DIII National Champion as a coach with Williams College in 2018
⚽ Playing Experience:
* Four-year standout at Williams College
* Reached the NCAA DIII Elite Eight, Sweet Sixteen, and National Championship Finals
* Known for her grit, intelligence, and leadership on and off the field
